Built in XXXX and abandoned in XXXX the water intake served the City of Benton Harbor for many years.
The abandoned water intake is a favorite spot for fishermen. It also is a good spot for divers to pick up an occasional lost anchor or fishing lure.
With a bottom depth of XX feet, the rock pile and intake structure is a great place to finish off a tank or use as a short dive to end the day. Located just North of the St. Joseph pier heads the structure is home to many small and occasionally a few large fish. Visibility is usually in the 5-15′ range with a great deal of boat traffic in the area.
