The South West Michigan Underwater Preserve begins just north of Holland along the Lake Michigan shoreline south to Bridgman, near the Indiana border. The preserve extends from the shoreline to the 130 foot depth, or five miles offshore, whichever is closer. The communities of New Buffalo, St. Joseph, Benton Harbor, South Haven, Douglas, Saugatuck, and Holland are located adjacent to the preserve. Presently over twenty-five sites have been located in or near the preserve including shipwrecks and geological formations, Clay banks, underwater rock piles and piers. With your support, the preserve will promote and preserve these historical sites. With your membership, you will receive discounts at dives shops and other business supporters of the preserve.
